King Hyndman played golf on Germantown Academy’s varsity golf team for five years and served as its' captain for one season. He also played varsity hockey for one year and was on the varsity wrestling team for one year. While at GA, King was named to the All Inter-Ac Golf team for four years and led his 1984 team to the Inter-Ac League Team Championship. He was named the 1985 Golf Association of Philadelphia Junior Boys Runner-up and was the 1985 United States Golf Association Junior Boys Medalist (local) and was in the Final 64 in Brookfield, N.Y. King was a 1985 Golf Association of Philadelphia Mason Dixon Match Team member and a 1985 Golf Association of Philadelphia Christman Cup Team member. He was also the 1985 Huntingdon Valley Country Club Junior Golf Champion and in 1987, was the Inter-Ac League Golf Champion and was runner-up in 1988. King was a Scholastic Golf Association of Philadelphia Medalist in 1988. He attended the University of Richmond and played varsity golf for three years. King later went on to graduate from the U.S. Army Airborne School and the U.S. Army Flight School to become a Blackhawk Helicopter pilot. King served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard from 1992-04.
