Track & Field: Germantown Academy Finishes Fourth at PAISAA Championships
MALVERN -- Germantown Academy's boys and girls track & field teams traveled to Malvern Prep for the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships. The boys compiled 68 points on the day, finishing fourth out of 18 schools, while the girls totaled 69 points, taking fourth out of 17 schools. The GA boys missed out third place by one point.
Girls Highlights
- Lorelai Fortmann '25 won the Pole Vault and set a new PAISAA record, clearing 11' on the day. The junior PRed twice during the meet. Zoe Hellman '25 finished fourth, while Devon Geist '26 took seventh.
- Layla Gentile '25 won the Shot Put with a 37' 4.75" throw. Gentile, who was also the Inter-Ac League Shot Put Champion, took second in the Discus with a 111' 2" throw.
- Piper Loney '27 placed third in the 200, running the event in the second-fastest time in school history (25.8). The freshman also contributed to a third-place finish in the 4x400, with a season-best time of 4:08.52. This ranks as the second fastest in GA history. The team consisted of Loney, Jocelyn Germain '28, Arden Silver '27, and Zoey Clark '26.
- The 4x100 team of Kaylin Trent '27, Lyla Perry '26, Gabby Colucci '24, and Kayla Sweeney '24 took third in the event, running 51.39.
- Trent finished third in the 300 Hurdles, going 50.17.
- Nieve Keitel '27 ran two PRs on the day, going 11:27.45 in the 3200 and 5:09.98 in the 1600. She placed third and fifth in those races, respectively.
- Colucci finished fifth in the Triple Jump, clearing 32' 2".
Boys Highlights
- Evan Badami '26 won the PAISAA title in the 400m, running a school-record time of 48.25 in the event. Badami now owns the top four times in the event in Germantown Academy history. The sophomore also finished third in the 800m, running 1:59.33.
- Adrian Diem '25 and Robby Bright '25 finished 1-2 in the Pole Vault, going 14' 9" and 14' 6", respectively.
- Blake Brown '24 finished second in the Long Jump with a 21' 4.25" leap. The senior finished fourth in the Triple Jump, clearing 41' 5.25".
- Mario Toscano '24 took second in the Discus with a 141' 3" throw. David Mendte '25 threw 129' 1" to finish sixth.
- Ellis Johnson '25 finished third in the 110 Hurdles, recording a PR of 15.61.
- Gavin Fountain '24 recorded a season-best mark in the Shot Put, throwing 51' 8.25". He finished fourth in the event.
- Jet Dickerson '26 ran a PR of 41.84 in the 300 Hurdles to finish sixth in the event.
